Many of our patients who have in the past visited other urgent care centers in Miami have complained to us that they are receiving bills from those urgent care centers for a "facility fee". These facility fees can amount to several hundred dollars in addition to the usual office visit fee.

Hospital owned urgent care centers charge a facility fee as if the visit occurred inside of a hospital.  This charge occurs even though the services occurred at a facility that was not located inside the hospital, but rather at a distant site miles away from the hospital itself.

Flu season is off to a roaring start in Miami and nation wide. At Miami Urgent Care we are seeing 5 to 10 influenza cases a day! Flu cases are causing longer than usual waits at most urgent care centers nationwide. Dr. Mones is surprised my the number of patients he is seeing with mild temperature and other flu like symptoms that are testing positive for the flu.

When people are feeling poorly the last thing they want to do is sit around in a crowded waiting room. We are doing everything possible to keep our waiting time down and most patients are in and out within 1 hour. The rapid flu test itself takes 15 minutes to complete so we are proud that we are able to offer in most instances the short wait time our patients desire.
